Third Week - Ride the Tiger!
My brain is starting to feel like mush. I know the amount of volume I put in is fairly lol compared to most people on here, but damn, 2-3 hour sessions of super deep and aggro HU is just mind numbing after a while. I didnt play much at all today, and I dont think I am going to play at all tomorrow. I havent stopped heating, and I hate to take a break when running hot hot hot heat, but the world has really slowed down, my head hurts, I am losing all motivation in every non-poker activity. That includes climbing, reading, and heck, even cooking. I have just been boiling potatoes and onions in water and eating a poor mans soup. I love that poker fuels all my extra curricular and leisure activities, but I dont want my life to be fueled by poker. Yes, one day off is definitely in order. I have earned it.
Keeps getting better and better week by week. <3 you February.

Hope to keep plowing strong after a days break and roll the month out nicely and finish +20k. Thats the goal.
I broke more records this week, shipping my largest pot(s) and getting my largest stack on a table (4.8k at 1/2). Records are kind of silly and ultimately unimportant in the grand scheme. Its just about winning and the money, but they are nice little motivational tools. Whenever you have your largest day, biggest pot, largest stack on a table, or whatever else you like to keep track of, a nice little happy calm comes over me. I am reminded that I am actually pretty good at this game, and am capable of beating it. So yes, I enjoy keeping track of the small records and bragging about them to the world. Keeps me focused, fueled, and ready to ride the tiger! (sorry, still listening to lots of Dio
)
Some of the more memorable hands from this week.
I could be bluffing a flush draw I guess?
Also, this is a prime example of the run good I have been having. Not just about winning flips, but flopping the nuts with shitbox hands on scary ass boards, holding, and somehow getting 3 streets of value.....

Largest hand for me ever in terms of $ and bb's #1. Not really much to say here, just a straight up coooooooooler.

Its all about sending your opponents into tilt orbit and getting big ol stacks. Last hand of session, and get my largest stack ever.

Posted in DOD thread, but still pretty lol. 7's are gooooooooot on turn. Like I said, key to HU poker is just to send your opponent into tilt orbit and then collect.

You know. At the time this hand happened I literally wanted to puke my guts out. I hated everything so much, but the more and more I look at it, and think back on the history of this villain the easier and easier this call on the river gets. Its rare to be able to put your opponents squarely on one hand, but with the reads I had, this villain pretty much has exactly A4xx every single time here.

This pot happened a couple of days after my first largest pot ever, and is now the new record holder. What can I say? RIDE THE TIGER!

This may be my greatest "hero call" ever. Funny when you see hands like this because they are surely terrible, but at the time it feels oh so right
weaktight | Hand | 5hJd7sAs - $1/$2 Pot Limit Omaha Hi
and my one and only 2/4 gem. Once again, it felt ohhhhhh so right, but surely is awful. Theres no substitute for a good gut.

Its been a little harder getting games the past few days. A month ago I could have a few tables up an running in under 15 seconds, but I guess when you start showing up to the same spot every day people start notice and steer clear. The other night I literally sat on two empty 1/2 tables for close to two hours. Its fine. I have never really had anything against bum hunters. They are the ones making all the money, and having the easiest time doing it, but still, I hate to become one of them and just sit at empty tables waiting to get a bite. Its been fine though the past few days because it gives me plenty of time to make deep runs in donkaments (only to fall short like always obviously) and watch lots of climbing videos. Once upon a time my dream was to make climbing videos. I have never ruled it out, and still think it would be rad to just climb and make fun films all day long. I used to love shooting short films and editing for hours on end back in the day, and probably still would. Its just another one of those roads in life though that interests you, but you probably wont go down. I have lots of those... Its kind of neat to see the evolution of climbing films in just the past 5 years. They are starting to get realllly good. Climbers are actually putting a lot of time, money, and effort into making totally badass films. To anyone bored I would recommend sébastien montaz-rosset's vimeo page. Makes lots of really quality short bouldering, slacklining, and ski films.
One of my favs. I would give anything to climb this big old block in France. Such a rad simplistic line, and just a reallly nice video.
A sweet little slacklining film of a real good dude just playing, having a good ol time, and getting in touch with his inner child. You can totally see it by the look on his face
In other good news. I have met some of the appropriate people and am starting to make small steps towards getting my ass up on a high line sometime in the future. One of my goals for the year. To be continued...
Alright duders. Have a good one, and someone please ship an FTOPS soon. Im looking at you Galen.
Cheers!
