Default Farha on Omaha: Expert Strategy for Beating Cash Games and Tournaments

Read trough it last week and I wastn impressed. Its splitted into fixed Omaha hi, fixed Omaha 8 or bether and Pot Limit Omaha.

The fixed parts are clearly best and the PLO chapters wasnt good at all. He doesnt give stacksizes or accurate details when describing concepts and just write in a style that seems braggy and very result oriented. It have alittle entertainment value but thats all.

The fixed parts are more solid with some gametips, mostly basic, but I feel there is more to learn from him there. At least what he give away.

Summary: Sammy writes a pretty selfsentered book that do a poor job explaining the more advanced concepts of the game, still the fixed Omaha parts are bether then the PLO parts. It have some ok/good pokerstories but nothing great.

4/10

I didn't care for the writing style either. I'm not interested in hearing someone brag about the plays they make, but I understand he was trying to be entertaining.

Players trying to learn PLO won;t find much in this book, but I thought it was an interesting read to get a look into the might of a very loose-aggressive high-stakes player.

I skipped all the chapters on Fixed Limit Omaha. I would have absolutely no interest in that game whatsoever.

Yes, everything he said in his book is exactly what I see in the Live games I play in.

I thought TJ's book Championship Omaha was a good book to start off with a nice tight, positionally aware omaha game.

Don't honestly remember what I really learned from it just know I read it before I ever started playing and haven't looked back since...

I agree with the previous comments. Actually, I didn't finish the book, it just was so poor on the technical side.

Farha's book = toilet paper. Even then, watch out for the paper cuts. Man...this book really IS useless!
